Creative Director · Le Salon Dore
The art of precision.
The language of beauty.
About
Born in Tokyo. Trained in Paris. Based in Palo Alto.
I grew up watching my mother arrange ikebana in a room where silence was its own kind of art. Paris taught me that beauty is not decoration—it is intention made visible. The Rive Gauche ateliers, the Marais couturiers, the way light behaves on lacquered surfaces at golden hour.
Now I bring that education to a single point: the fingertip. Every nail is a canvas no larger than a postage stamp, and that constraint is the whole game.
I am Creative Director at Le Salon Dore, where I design collections, train artisans, and work with clients who understand that the highest form of personal style lives in the details no one else notices—until everyone does.
Portfolio
Each collection is designed as a full editorial language—palette, silhouette, finish, narrative.
“Beauty that announces itself too loudly— Sakura Matsumoto
has already lost the argument.”
Philosophy
The Japanese concept of meaningful negative space. What you choose not to add is always the harder decision—and the more powerful one.
Surface and substance are the same thing. The finish—matte, lacquer, velvet, chrome—is not the last detail. It is the first sentence.
A piece that looks identical on day one and day fourteen has been engineered, not improvised. Longevity is respect for the client's time.
